North Wales Kayak Fishing
Mazzif Fisha
This is my review of the Mazzif fisha fishing kayak
Firstly the official specifications
•Length: 2.65m (8ft 7in)
•Width: 76cms (29.92in)
•Kayak Weight: 18kg (approx)
•Max Paddler Weight: 100kg (approx)
•Outfitting: Paddle, Seat, Straps and adjustable rod holder
The first thing you notice when you unpack the Mazzif fisha is the
quality of the moulding it’s superb.
Quality plastics are used throughout and top notch fittings which
are spaced just right for us kayak
fishermen
The overall look of the boat with all the fittings it very sleek with every thing well spaced this is a very stable fishing platform
At 8ft7inches the mazzif fisha is designed for the bays and the still waters where you don’t need to paddle miles to reach the fish
The rear tank well is just right for a crate it is not
to deep that your crate will get lost.
It has 2 well positioned scupper holes for quick drainage and a 6
point bungee system with fastening hooks
The well designed cockpit area is spacious enough for all your tackle and with things being so well laid out it will make a superb comfortable fishing kayak
This kayak has 4 flush mount rod holders each is fitted with a cap and cap retainer
The 2 dry hatches are very well designed they each have a deep skirt moulded in to the frame to allow a tight fit each hatch comes complete with a removable nylon inner bag the hatch closes and open via a simple locking twist bar the rim of the hatch cover has a thick rubber seal on it so once you twist the t bar everything locks down really tightly another great plus with these hatches is they are fitted using nuts and bolts so a much better seal to the deck is made
The hatches are accessible when on the water with relative ease so it’s no problem retrieving things from the hatch while fishing
The mazzif fisha is a very dry ride no water was
present during the tests in the foot wells or the seating area this
is partly down to the position of the scupper holes with the
scupper holes located to the rear of the foot wells where all the
weight of the person is no build up should occur near the
feet
The underside of the kayak has 4 deep channels this helps with the
tracking of the kayak and the deep bow and stern mouldings help
again with tracking stability and the ability to cut through the
water
Overall the mazzif fisha is a superb versatile kayak which I found very manhoverable it would be ideal for fishing the bays and being just under 9ft it will be easy to transport and handle off the water the layout of the fixtures has been done just right with ample room and comfort I think this is a supper little kayak and sure to become a firm favourite with us kayak fishermen
