Mahee Tandem kayak
The Mahee Tandem kayak
This is my review of the new mahee
tandem kayak.
The latest new kayak from ocean mouldings is just about to be
realised in the uk
This kayak is called the Mahee tandem it is fully built moulded and
fitted out here in the uk this kayak has been about 12 months in
the planning and a lot of care and thought has gone in to it to
accommodate the uk angler there are many innovative ideas built in
to this kayak many you may never have seen
before.
The angler version comes with 4 flush mount rod holders and 2 ram holders it has 2 large hatches and 4 carry handles
The cockpit has been designed for maximum comfort for
both the forward and rear angler.
The front angler has 2 forward facing flush mounts and a dry
hatch
The rear angler has 2 flush mounts a dry hatch and
superb console moulding
This kayak has lots of flat space for mounting fish finders ect it
will be easy to kit out with additional
accessories.
Each of the dry hatches have a moulded in bowl and a large rubber hatch cover which I found very easy to put on and take off
The rear tank well is deeper than most of the tank wells I have seen this should aid in holding the crate very securely
The moulding on the rear anglers console is really clever it’s deep enough to allow things not to fall out while holding them very securely
The kayak has 14 stainless steel deck loops these are very strong anchor points for seats ect each of theses deck loops has a recessed moulding to allow it to sit flat on the kayak so there is nothing sticking up to catch your hands
The kayak has 2 paddle keepers for storing the paddles while fishing one on each side both of these are in superb positions allowing the angler to use them easily the top retainer button is also recessed so can not catch your hand while paddling
The hull has fantastic lines all designed to aid stability and tracking
The moulding of the rear hull is shaped to add
stability to the kayak .
The kayak has 10 moulded in scupper holes 2 of which are deeper to
allow a transducer to be fitted
