This is my first impressions review
The orca is the fastest rod release of
any holder on the market

The orca is a little larger in size than the standard Scotty rod mounts
The
quick release system is very clever.
The rod is firmly locked in place above but a quick snatch and the whole thing
opens to realise the rod.
You can see how the whole thing works here it is in the open position ready
for a rod to be but in and then pressed down
The new Scotty lock base mount is brilliant on this rod holder no more
twisting to set the rod holder just press the realise button and swivel the holder to the desired position.
I think
this is a great piece of kit firstly it will allow us to lock a rod in this rest and slowly paddle trolling a lure or set
of feathers or even a redgill type lure if a fish does take he lure it will not pull the rod out of the rest so there is no
fear of loosing this rod and reel while trolling .for the tope guys again your not going to get a fish suddenly pull your
rod over while you are having a drink because the rod is locked in .it takes a good quick pull to release the rod and reel
so this is a real plus .the retail of this new Scotty orca is £29.95 I feel it is sure to be a winner .
